Dr. Ali Bashiri, CFA is the Head of Data-Driven Investment Research and Chief Science Officer at Atlas Capital Team Inc., where he spearheads the development of machine learning systems and data-driven investment strategies. Previously at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, he developed quantitative investment strategies using both alternative and traditional data with advanced machine learning techniques. Dr. Bashiri has also held roles in quantitative investment at top Canadian banks and hedge funds, and served as a lecturer and research manager at the University of Toronto. He holds an undergraduate degree and a Ph.D. in the intersection of finance, engineering, and statistics from the University of Toronto, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
